Promat and NHBC demonstrate practical approach to Fire Safety

Promat has joined forces with the National House-Building Council (NHBC) to deliver a series of training seminars offering practical advice to achieving fire safety for Construction Site Managers and NHBC Inspectors.
The seminars took place across the UK during January and February and highlighted key areas in which a better understanding of fire safety provisions need to be considered. Specific areas covered during the seminars included adequate fire protection to walls and partitions, cavity barriers, fire stopping and smoke ventilation.
Promat’s Marketing Manager, Sean Appleton commented: “More recently we have witnessed a number of devastating fires in apartment blocks which have highlighted the consequences of not providing adequate attention to fire spread prevention. We are delighted to work with NHBC to help provide guidance and a better understanding of where fire safety provisions need to be considered.”
NHBC, the National House-Building Council, is the standard-setting body and leading warranty and insurance provider for new and newly converted homes in the UK.
