Promat Responds to Demand with New Factory

Promat UK has responded to the increasing demand for its passive fire protection products by relocating one of its production plants from West Yorkshire into significantly larger premises in Heywood, Lancashire. The new 62,000 sq. ft. factory will include manufacture of Promat’s growing portfolio of fire-resistant glazing systems. With excellent motorway links via the adjacent M62 motorway the new factory will help Promat improve the already high level of service it provides to customers.

“The new factory in Heywood is an important development for Promat,” says Ian Cowley,  Sales Director, Industrial.  “It is a key part of our strategy to become the UK’s first choice provider of fire-resistant glazing, and the new, larger facility is a reflection of that aim.

We understand that, as well as the crucial fire safety offered by our passive fire protection systems, the aesthetics of glazing systems are important to our customers,” continues Ian. “The new facilities will help us develop both elements of that offering and provide customers with solutions that deliver outstanding fire protection, market-leading design possibilities and also fulfil the highest safety levels in areas such as impact resistance.”

Promat’s glazing systems meet the approval criteria of all the relevant standards set for fire-resistant glazed constructions, and this reflects the company’s commitment to providing the optimum solution for each customer’s individual requirements.
